The Georgia T.A.G. Scholarship is a scholarship that is funded by the revenue obtained from the Alabama A&M University license plates in the state of Georgia.

The scholarship is managed by all 3 AAMU alumni chapters in the state of Georgia: Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter, Augusta CSRA Alumni Chapter, and Middle Georgia Alumni Chapter.

The application window for 2025 has been closed. It will reopen for new applicants in early spring 2026.

Scholarship Overview

This scholarship is open to high school seniors, transfer collegiate students, and current AAMU students who meet the following criteria:

Resident of Metro Atlanta
Minimum 2.80 cumulative GPA (on 4.0 scale)
Participation in extra-curricular, community service, and/or leadership activities
AAMU acceptance letter or proof of enrollment
Financial Need

Decisions rendered by the Scholarship Committee are final.

Scholarship awards are one-time awards. Students may reapply each year for each scholarship offered, although this does not guarantee being selected again.

Scholarship funds may be used for any expenses related to the cost of attending Alabama A&M University. Expenses may include, but are not limited to, tuition, books, fees, etc.

All payments will be made to Alabama A&M University on behalf of the award recipient unless otherwise specified.

Only (1) scholarship per award cycle will be awarded by the Chapter per applicant.
